39 weeks pregnant and had two looser bowel movements this evening can I expect contractions soon?

These bowel movements are not like diarrhea but they are looser than usual. I had one at about six and another at about 8:30 plus a normal movement for me mid afternoon. I have read that this is a sign of labor coming soon but I dont remember having this with my daughter. Can I expect contractions soon? Does this mean labor is soon? I also have been having braxton hix on a daily basis this past week.

one can never tell cause each precious life is different. i cleaned to death with both of my children before birth. and it was weird cleaning.. only u know your body.. watch for something weird that you wouldnt normally do.. and i bet by the end of that day youll have that god given lil blessing. good luck (:

No, it doesn't necessarily mean labor is near. It could be from your diet, sleep cycle ect. But it can also mean labor is not. It's just not something I would consider a reliable source.

It is not a sign of labor to have a loose BM. It is a sign of labor if you're having consistent diarrhea. You can also have Braxton-Hicks for a few months before you deliver, so that's not a sign of labor either. I don't think you are in early labor or anything. You could still have 3 more weeks left. You are just getting anxious and want to be in labor. Just relax and try to get some rest. You're going to need it!
