If you were an 11 year old Chinese girl would you rather be on the olympic team or work in a Walmart factory?

Keep in mind that most 11 year old Chinese girls work about 90 hours per week in Walmart's factories. Isn't it a good thing that the Chinese government is letting the 11 year olds onto the Olympic team?

I mean, the morning mist that descends upon the town (cough, cough), the sites to be seen (stay away from Tiannemen Square) and the friendly people who descend upon me (and beat me with truncheons). I knew they were younger than 16! Yes it's a very good thing! I see way to many Wal-Mart commercials. It's really annoying. I'd rather be on the Olympic team.

LOL! What's funny is you think they have a choice and that that choice is made at 11. Try 3 and they have no choice!

Let's see the hours and the pay are the same. And either way I'll end up at the sweatshop so I might as well go there and maybe by the time I'm 14 I can be manager.

I'm not sure where you get your information, but you're mistaken. I live in China. While I'd agree that Chinese teenagers may work 90 hours per week, it's usually on schoolwork, not in factories. When the children do work, it's usually in their families restaurants or workshops. Also, the three gymnasts in question are thought to be 14, not 11.

its all about internal politics. Chinese girl gymnast team won the gold medal of course some country is going to try to get them disqualify. Thats why I dont really pay attention to it that much. It seems like the richiest countries have more medal counts. Go figure.
