I've noticed small clear bubbles under the skin on the inside of my bottom lip and would like to know whatitis
As I said in my question, I have small clear liquid filled bubbles on the inside of my lower lip. Sometimes I can feel them just before they come up from under the skin. When I looked in the mirror when this was happening, I could see what almost looked like 3 tiny skin covered, with no blood, holes which became the clear blister-like bubbles on the inside of my bottom lip. What exactly is this?
Best Answer:
Sounds like a mucocele (MYOO-koh-seal). It is a swelling that happens when a saliva gland is injured or blocked. Saliva moves from a gland into your mouth through tiny ducts. Sometimes one of the tubes is cut. Saliva pools at the spot and causes swelling. These occur inside the lower lip. They do not hurt, although can be annoying. Shallow ones may burst and release a straw-colored fluid. Trauma is the leading cause. Try not to bite your lip. :)
